The best thing to do is hit the stores right after christmas this year. Thats what we did last year.

Re: Christmas Wedding

theme is red . I am using fake snow for flower girls to throw instead of rose petals . Also i am having pointsettas/candles for centerpieces. Instead of place cards was going to use real glass ornaments and gold pen to to write peoples names on them. Will have BM use a fur hand muff and FG will wear fur coates. I am also sprinkling some fake snow inside of my invitations and attaching this snow flake charm to them as well!

Re: Christmas Wedding

I remember one bride on here had a christmas tree in the reception room and at the end of the night the dj made an announcement that the guests favors were to go and take an ornament off the tree as they leave. I thought that was really cute.

Re: Christmas Wedding

This isn't the best pic of my cake but everyone loved how it went with the x-mas theme. We did a sort-of x-mas theme. Nothing over the top but.....the flowers all had holly and berries, centerpieces were candles with holly and berries around the mirror base and for favors we had a x-mas tree next to the dais and at the end of the night dj announced it and everyone took an ornament (there was a basket next to the tree with gift bags in it so people could take their ornament-and there was a piece of tissue paper in the gift bag) I bought all of the ornaments after x-mas the year before at fortunoff. Everyone LOVED the favors -- i tied a little tag to them with our names and dates. People were telling me that it was a bad idea to let people pick the ornaments cause they might argue but everyone was well behaved!! I'll try to find more pics.

Oh...during dinner and when people were first finding their seats DJ played some x-mas music in the background. And for OOT bags (we had 50 rooms at the hotel) I bought x-mas bags the year before and filled them with juice, water, muffins, and christmas candy.

I'm doing a snaowflake theme white primarily navy blue and white accents. I'm going to try and decorate my church like the picture in my avatar.

Re: Christmas Wedding

My cousin got married just around Christmas, check with your hall, and see what decorations they normally have for the season. There hall provided poinsettas for the tables already, and had Christmas trees set up in the lobby...

I don't know how pricy it would be but for a combined favor/placecard you could have nutcrackers lined up on the placecard table with the placecards hung around thier necks....so cute....

Also, pretty centerpieces could be clear glass bowls filled with ornaments(like all red, or silver and gold), and then something stuck in between them (some holly berries and leaves, whatever).

Or pinecones that have glitter on the ends (when they are rolled in glue and then in glitter), they look so pretty....

Your bridesmaids can walk down the aisle to the Nutcracker them (maybe it's the sugar plum fairy song (dant, dadada dant, dant dant dant dant)....

I don't know if you are getting married in a church, but they are usually already decorated for Christmas, so check out what they will already have.

Christmas weddings are so pretty....
you have to get one of those furry capes, and muffs!!!!

Re: Christmas Wedding

We got lenox ornaments for 75% off the day after Christmas to be used as favors - and we are wrapping them as Christmas gifts - with tags identifying the attendees.

The girls are wearing red - I also saw a Bonny dress that was white with red trim that I loved in pictures but wasn't flattering on me at all. Still a beautiful dress.

During the cocktail hour we're going to ask the dj to play some holiday music.

We're having pointsettia and candle centerpieces, and pointsettias at the church (they don't decorate until Christmas Eve at my church, unfortunately)...

We didn't end up getting Christmas themed invites b/c we thought it would look strange coming in October, but there are some pretty snowflake and Christmas ones too.
