is it possible to get married in a church that you nor fh family is apart of?

how do/did you find your church??

i think there are some that will allow that...i've seen some girls on here mention a few places.

Fh has been going to this church since he was a kid and his mom is in the choir, and does fund raising for them so that is why we were able to book there

Yes most churches will marry you if you are not a member. Find a church you like the look of and give them a call. They will want to meet with you and most likely will be more than happy to marry you. If my church was booked for my date , I was just going to go to a church that I thought was pretty and get married there.

I am. My church was giving me the run around and I got fed up so we went to another church and the priest was so nice and willing to marry us. We couldn't be happier!!!

A lot of churches are strict with you needing to be a member to get married...FH and I encountered that and he had to join b/c its near his house. Just double check with whichever church you'd like to get married in and see if thats a requirement of theirs.

yeah i was about to say alot are strict and you have to be a member...quite a few girls on here have ran into this problem...there are some that will allow but alot will also give you problems

Some will allow you, some won't. If you find a church you like, why not consider becoming a member?

Yes, FH & I are getting married in a different Parish..
We went to a church in btw where we both live and we told them that we go to church there every other sunday and they let us get married there..

fh and I don't belong to the church that we are getting married in. they were very nice about it so i'm sure if you just talk to them they will work with you.

I'm getting married in a church that I'm not a member of. However, I used to be a member. My family lived in that parish for over 20 years & I went to the school for 7 years before we moved away. I think that's why they allowed it.
