We're having trouble figuring out what to do in terms of a chuppah. The Riviera has a big gazebo but it techncially doesn't count as a Chuppah. Plus if it were to rain :knock on wood: we'd need something to be married under.
My grandmother's temple rents one cheap but it needs to be held by 4 people and i dont know what it looks like.
Our florist will make a beautiful one but its very $$ and i can't see paying that much just for the one-time use.
Our last option would be to make one but that might be too time consuming and risky.
Any thoughts or ideas or suggestions??? Thanks!!!

Re: Chuppah Issues
The chuppah can be very simple -- you can use a tallis or other cloth supported by 4 poles and held by 4 people in your bridal party. Jewish ceremonies tend to be very short and the chuppah would be pretty light.

We are getting ours from our florist. But if you were to make one you could buy the poles from home depot and buy the fabric from Joannes and attach it. Have family members or people from the BP hold it.

I really dont want to have people holding it though, which is the problem. How much is your florist charging? Is it just a rental or can you keep it?

I did not want to spend a lot of money for the chupah so I just had a plain one done. photo in album.

Where did you get it? Was it a lot of money?

Re: Chuppah Issues
I bought one off Ebay for $150, it was basically a smaller version of a party tent, but I didn't like the material it came with. So I bought sheer organza/chiffonish full drapes and my aunt sewed the panels together. Then I added lighting on the sides. I have pictures in my album.

We used Spitz and Peck. I don't know how much the chupah was separately, but I am sure one like that is very inexpensive. Print it out and show your florist. Good Luck

Our rabbi offered to bring one with her to the hall But our hall provided one rain or shine
