Is anyone renting a chuppah? We need a simple, small chuppah to go in front of the gazebo (not one that you hold) with tulle. ANy suggestions?
Thanks!

Re: Chuppah rental?
Our florist has a huge chuppag that is $1K, our rabbi has on ehtat you have to hold and the North Ritz Club usually uses the gazebo as the chuppah for outside but we don't want to be in the gazebo. We were hoping to set-up a small chuppah in front of the gazebo.

Re: Chuppah rental?
I rented mine from Yussel's in Merrick, and I loved it. It was only $125, I think. Mrswask used the same one.
Edited to make the photo work (hopefully)

Re: Chuppah rental?
I've told my parents that I am going to make my own. My FH says 'no way', but I told him it 'represents the building of our lives together'. He mocks me, but then I tell him about the ex-boyfriend from 'Meet the Parents' who built a hand-carved wood chuppah for the woman getting married to Ben Stiller. If I really make our chuppah, I let you know...but for now it's just a passing thought.

one way to make your chuppah, if u so choose, is to have friends and family decorage pieces of fabric and then have them sewn together to make the canopy....

Re: Chuppah rental?
If you want to think out of the box. Hindus have something very similar called Mandaps. It extends from just above your head (canopy) to include some sort of frame and background fabric.
You can rent these real cheap and they will set them up for you as well. Although I am Christian, I had rented a mandap to make the stage area at our reception look nicer. I got a ton of compliments.
