Hi ladies, I know this has been asked but I am stressing out....I need a church for a non-catholic bride and catholic groom.... I have been in contact with the east williston community church and it is becoming a headache,.... I want to have a string trio instead of using their organ player and this seems to be a problem for them...They also want to charge me 50 bucks to use their runner and they require that I use theirs.......please help!!!

Re: CHURCH!!!!!!
Are you completely against getting married at the reception hall? If you want to save $$, this is one big way to.

Re: CHURCH!!!!!!
I think we will just suck it up and have it at the East Williston church. It is a beautiful church, and I have too many other things to worry about!!!!
Thanks ladies!!!

Re: CHURCH!!!!!!
Have you tried to contact an Appiscopalian (spelling?) church? Their beliefs are similar to the Catholic church but they don't believe in the pope. A friend of mine got married in that type of church. They were both Catholic but one was married before and the Catholic church would not marry them. I don't know much about it, but it is a thought to look into it. Hope that's helpful.

Re: CHURCH!!!!!!
We got married at Parkway Community Church in Hicksville. They were very nice to work with and pretty much let you do what you want. And they weren't too expensive. And they offered us a runner but we declined because I got a nice one through my limo company. They are also kinda close to your hall. Good Luck!!

Re: CHURCH!!!!!!
Does your FH want to be married in the Catholic Church as he is a Catholic? The Catholic Church does marry inter-faith couples. You might want to look into this... they will help you will all the arrangements that have to be made and you will probably have to go to Pre-Cana (marriage 'counseling' for lack of a better word. Most couples getting married in the Catholic Church do Pre-Cana... it's just a nice way to discuss issues that will come up in marriage and how to deal with them. I know many inter-faith couples that found Pre-Cana very helpful. St. Aidan's is in Williston Park-- it's a really nice chucrch (it's Catholic).

Re: CHURCH!!!!!!
My FH isn't really religious, but I was raised Christian. I figured a non denominational church would be our best bet. The church we are looking at requires 2 counseling sessions with the pastor, so I guess that is kinda like Pre-Cana.

Re: CHURCH!!!!!!
Try St. Joseph's in North Babylon. That's where we are having our ceremony and I'm not catholic either.. they just expect that we do the precana thing. We are not having a mass just a ceremony..
