Re: Church
If you know which church you want to get married at you should either call them or go down there and let them know that you would like have your wedding there and then they will usually set you up with an interview with either a priest or another couple to ask you a couple questions and at that point they pencil your date into the book.
At least that is how my church does it. They gave me a hard time because they were not booking 2009 weddings yet, so just be persistent if you have any problems.
During the interview they ask you basic questions like if your catholic and all that, nothing scary like I was expecting!! ANd they will also give you the information for pre-cana too.
HTH!

Re: Church
I THINK that you just need to be baptized. I know my church will try to talk you into having a confirmation if you didnt have one, but you dont need it. Every church is different. Alot of them are more relaxed with the requirements now because they want to keep people with the church.

Re: Church
FH and i went to the Church pretty early on. Steven was baptized, but not confirmed, so my Priest said that it wouldnt be a problem to confirm him before the wedding; plus we have 2 years! The Church usually does it around Easter time so maybe next year about this time we can take care of it. Eventually we have to go back to the Church and bring our baptisimal (spelling?) certificates but we have time for that!

Re: Church
Well seeing as we are not getting married until October of 2009, when should we book the church?

Re: Church
My Church didn't even have an '09 book yet. They put our name and date at the end of the '08 book. If they can do soemthing like that for you then go with it...If not maybe wait till October this year? That would be my suggestion.

Re: Church
Chrissy are you guys affiliated with St. Kilian's in Farmingdale or are you affiliated with somewhere else?
We made an appointment to meet with the priest and he explained everything to us. We met with Father Todd, he was so nice, he's at St. Kilian's.
