Church Booking

Church Booking

For everyone having a Church wedding: were you able to book the Church so far in advance?? when we called our Church (back in March) they said that they won't have the 2009 book until August? Just wondering if any other Church said the same? Oh and I know you're not supposed to but I booked the reception hall b/c I wanted a specific date and was scared I would not get it.

My church told me that I couldnt book until October....well I guess I was persistent (and annoying) enough that they started a new book for me

August is around the corner, I would just wait. I look back now and realized there was no rush.

Dont worry about booking the RH, I had mine booked before I went and it was no issue. They are actually really understanding when you tell them that you want to plan so far in advance because you want to save money and not start out life together in debt.

When I called the church, the priest told me that they didn't have a book yet but that he would write it on a piece of paper and put it in the back of the 08 book. He also told me to call back in June or July. So I think I will call him in 2 weeks. I explained to him that I wanted to make sure it was booked before I started booking anything and he was very understanding. It's also better b/c then u get the exact time that you want. Our church didn't have an 09 book either but they still sent us the paperwork and the pastor put the date in his calendar that he has on his computer. We told them we would fill out the paperwork again if need be so that it is up to date. As far as what we have to do before the wedding, he told us to call him back in January and then we can sit down with him.

I had the same issue....there was no 2009 calendar and I was told to come back in the summer. I've already booked the RH, which technically you shouldn't do until booking the church, but I needed the comfort of having the RH booked and having a date. Depending on the church, some priests really look down upon booking the RH before the church so try avoiding mentioning that if possible when seeing the priest to book.
