I don't think you can get a chalis... it has to be blessed by the church.

If anything, try a Catholic Supply store.

Re: CHURCH CUP THING

Our church doesnt even allow that anymore except for the priest himself since the whole SWINE FLU thing...so find out if they even still do it there

I hate that the priest drinks out of it too and they just wipe it out. That's not even remotely sanitary.

It really is kinda gross.

Ok, you're giving me heart palpitations here! Do you REALLY have to drink out of it?!?! I absolutely will NOT do that! I'm gagging just thinking about it! If that is a requirement, I'm not getting married in church, end of story!

Re: CHURCH CUP THING

greek religion requires you to drink from the 'common cup' ...........we don't have an option lol

The Common Cup. The priest follows the crowning with a Gospel reading, which tells of the marriage of Cana at Galilee. It was at this wedding that Jesus performed his first miracle, changing water into wine and offering the result to the married couple. Repeating this ritual, the priest gives wine to the couple. They each drink from the cup three times.

Haha, not Greek here, we're Catholic. I know they have the wine glass in Church and it's usually optional, you just got me worried that maybe they expect you to drink from it on your wedding day!

Re: CHURCH CUP THING

and if u dont drink out of the cup- they take it as a form of disrespect..so how do u think the priest is gonna feel about you bringing your own..LMAO..
Just tell him to drink- and then down a bottle of scope or something..lol

I brought this convo up with a priest about a month ago-
And his answer was 'you have to have faith in god that you wont get sick'
I swear i looked at him and i said..'really dude- thats all you got for me'
he cracked up.. but he was a young priest..not the old fashioned ones that are MEAN lol
