church dilema

church dilema

What would you guys do?

I am having trouble with finding a church. well, not really. This is the situation. We are getting married in Smithtown. I live in Nassau, FI lives in Suffolk. We wanted to get married in Nassau because we figured that since about 98% of our guests are from Nassau and a couple from Queens, it would be easier for them to go to the ceremony and go back home or whatever and wait for the reception (which starts @7pm) and just take one drive straight to Suffolk. Well we really like the church by his house (St. Anne) and I know the deacon and some people there and I am doing my communion and confirmation there so they told me it would be no problem if we wanted to get married there. We wouldn't even have to become members and they would be very accomodating to us.

My problem is would people even bother coming to our ceremony in Brentwood, driving back to Nassau, and then driving back to Smithtown later that afternoon? I should add that the other church that is closer wants us to become members and to be honest I really don't like the church. Not from the outside or anything, its just that I dont' really feel the church know what I mean? Would you guys go to a ceremony if it was far away?

I would have to say that if people really care about you and want to be there of course they will... they cleared the saturday if they replied yes

besides i would only want my closest friends and family at the ceremony
i wouldn't worry too much... they will show

yea I guess so, that is exactly what my fmil said. FH says that if we have a church we like and they are willing to be more than accomodating to us, why bother seeking elsewhere. I am just trying to make everyone happy I guess.
