Church dilemma
Ok this could get long – feel free to skip.
When we booked our reception hall, we were originally going to have the ceremony there too. I had a few questions about the differences between getting married there vs a church, so I asked a woman I work with used to be a nun.
She asked us why we weren’t getting married in a church and I didn’t want her to think I was a bad Catholic so I just said that my church was booked that day. She said if we wanted to maybe she could pull some strings at the church she works at (near our reception site) and we could get married there.
Long story short – FH decided he wanted to get married in a church, so we booked my church first. After thinking about it for a while, we realized it was really far away for everyone, so I asked the woman I work with if she could check into her church. She came back and told me it was fine, but that we’d need to get a letter from my church saying it was ok to get married somewhere else (since she still thought our church was booked that day).
Soooo now I don’t know what to do. I’m afraid to ask my church for a letter bc they’re going to be like “Ummm I thought you were getting married here?” But I would much rather get married at the other church bc it’s so much more convenient.
AHHH THIS IS WHY YOU SHOULDN’T LIE!!!!
Even though I didn’t do anything intentionally. So dumb.
