Church Donation????!!!!!!

Church Donation????!!!!!!

When we met with the priest to reserve our date the 'donation' is $500.

That seems a little high to me for not even a full mass, when I was reading the booklet that the priest gave us it says that this covers the alter boys, etc., etc.,

My brother was an alter boy and the last time I checked he did not get paid for it.

Sorry, just venting.

Now that it is actually 2004 I am getting really nervous.

My church 'DONATION' is 650.00 and they didnt even call it a donation they said a fee. they also told me how I should pay it. two 10.00 bills for the alter boys.

it covers the overhead, ie: heating or cooling the church for that time, the lights too. and i believe that altar boys are usually paid for things like weddings, baptisms (if needed) and funerals. not normal mass.

Re: Church Donation????!!!!!!

the alter boys do not get payed... although they are suppose to get tipped for their time($10-$20 each) there are 2 of them

... my church calls the donation 'because electricity and heat cost money, the expenses to use the church'

Isn't a Donation an amount that you would like to contribute at your own disgression? I never understood that set donation for the church.

at least its tax deductable .. think of it as the charity the church asks you contribute to

Wow, seems I got a good deal also. My church 'donation' is $250. The catch, I guess, is that the church ceremony musicians 'fee' is $450 And they 'encourage' you to use their musicians while they 'discourage' you to use outside musicians. If you do choose to bring in your own, you still have to pay the church musicians anyway!

Wow, I wish i was paying $250.....

I can't believe the crazy amounts they request for a fee. That makes fh angry.............

The first beautiful church i choose was about $610.00. But, they did not have my date so I found another church for $500.00

So far so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine didn't mention it--is that odd?

We were late & he was in a hurry, so he may have forgotton. He also didn't say when we had to come back-- he just gave us a pre-cana schedule/registration from.
