How much is it to rent a church for the ceremony? I'm part of a church, but its way too small so i need to rent a chuch. The first place i looked is charging $550. Is that too much?

Re: Church fees
We are paying $650 for Infant Jesus in Port Jefferson. $550 sounds good to me.

Re: Church fees
We're paying $600 for St. Patrick's in Bay Shore so $550 sounds about right.
We paid $350 at Our Lady of Victory in Floral Park.

Re: Church fees
Our church didn't have a fee...not even a suggested donation...they just said to be 'generous' and give 'from the heart'...so we did.

Re: Church fees
Well, I don't thnk you can jsut rent a church. Then again, I guesss that is what you'd be doing if it is not your parish. But you need to get all the information from the actual church's that the both of you belong to. For Ex: baptism certs, communion. It's simple, jsut silly paper work. and the fee is usually anwheer from 500 to 750. My church was 550 plus the fee for the organist and a fee for the vocalist.

Re: Church fees
Mine was free because I'm a member. I think it's like $425 for non-members.

Re: Church fees
Now I feel like I overpaid for mine -- $850 including pianist, but we are not members anywhere and it seemed like the going rate in the area we wanted our ceremony.

Re: Church fees
My church is charging $750. I thought that was a lot of $$. And they charge you for the Singer and the organist whether you want them or not.
