my florist actually mentioned something about this the other day...
if there are/were weddings before or after you, did you supply flowers for the church?
our church really doesn't need anything.. but I'm worried that if there is a wedding before us that they'll have like pumpkins or some huge red/orange/yellow floral display left over and that clashes with our theme/colors. OR that the wedding that starts like an hour after mine will show up early to decorate the church while we're attempting to do a receiving line.
any thoughts/comments on this?

Re: CHURCH GIRLS--- flowers
I am not worried about this. If there is anything before us it would be a funeral. I hope nothing gets left behind from that!!!

Neither did I. My priest mentioned coordinating with the other couple to decorate, but since we didn't feel we needed any, we just let it go.
Apparently there were 2 arrangements on the altar and some tulle outside on the banister. Thanks other bride!

Re: CHURCH GIRLS--- flowers
i had church flowers but thats cuz i got married on a thursday and thats the day the churc throws out the previous weekend's flowers. so i chose to provide them to the church. i dont know what the other brides did afterwards, but i really loved how it looked
we are going to make a 'donation' to the church for flowers that will stay there for the week. It's not expensive and we figure we'll get some flowers up there at the alter and then we're making a small contribution to the church while we're at it...

We are not having any church flowers. That being said, I'm hoping if there are any large pumpkins or other things on the altar, I could ask my DOC to take them away?

we didn't do flowers, we just had whatever the church had on the alters and a few pew bows. it was a good way to save some $

We didn't do flowers, instead we opted for pew bows and candleabras because the alter is really plain

Re: CHURCH GIRLS--- flowers
I would ask your church how they handle that and as far ask pumpkins I'm pretty sure most churches see that leaning towards Halloween decor and won't bring them into the church. I could be completely wrong though but I remember another bride posting about her church not allowing pumpkins or something that they considered to be 'Halloween' decor.
