UPDATE*!
So we finally booked the church...and during the liturgy he makes this long talk about how you must keep tradition...with friends and family because many people loose their identity...don't carry on what their parents taught them..what our ancestors fought for...I met with the priest afterwards and he says I shouldnt convert....but just learn about the orthodox religion in order to teach my kids...Im so happy about it..he will let me marry in the church also.

He says we have to do Precana...MY MOUTH DROPPED...but then he explained that it consists of one night...we have dinner with him and we discuss the orthodox religon. VERY HAPPY!

Re: church issues...

He may want to get information regarding your babtism and first holy communion.

ETA: your parish (even if you haven't gone in years) is where you were baptised and made your communion... unless you switch of course.

Re: church issues...

i think its a normal question to ask...I mean the fact that you didnt go to church in a while shouldn't be a problem...i mean if you were a big church goer you mightve not been converting.

Well, this is the third church we booked...lol

Its 3 Hierarchs...in Brooklyn.
Believe it or not..we booked Holy Trinity in S.I.., and the priest said we can only have one Koumbarro.., meanwhile we already asked 3 people.....so we thought to change the church instead of un-asking our Koumbarri..you know

i kind of had a similiar situation....my mom is greek orthodox and my dad is jewish....so my parents never had us baptized into any one religion...they left it open and taught is about both soi that as we gt older we could decide for ourselves.....FH is catholic and the church is a very big part of his family's life..when we went to the church to talk to the priest he was so kind and understanding. I told him that i was willing to convert and he was like no...take your time to think about this this is so importnant and you have to make sure you are doing this for the righ reasons...etc.....so we arestill getting married in the church we just arent going to have a mass just a short ceremony. He even said that he has this great greek piece that he would like to incorporate into the ceremony (which made my mom so happy)...Its funny because i was so nervous to go talk to him andd he was so nice and put me at ease.

Glad it worked out. And that is good that you don't have to convert. Precana should be fun. Alot of girls that have gone already say it's great!
