I was just wondering what music everyone is picking for the bridal party and you to walk down the aisle to in the church. Also, is anyone doing Ave Maria. It's kind of an Italian tradition where you and the groom present a dozen roses on the alter to 'Ave Maria' and it signifies healthy children in the future.

Re: Church Music
I had the cantor sing Ave Maria for the processional (DHs parents, my BMs and the flowergirl). I came into the traditional Here Comes the Bride thing.

Re: Church Music
I will walk in to the traditional 'Here Comes The Bride'. The Cantor will sing Ave Maria. The priest told us about that. I guess thats one of his favorites!

Re: Church Music
I had pacabel canon for the parents/girls and 'here comes the bride' for us. We had AVa Maria for our presentation to the blessed mother after communion. We also had bagpipers to lead us out of the church which people LOVED!! They were surprised!!

Re: Church Music
I'm using pacabell's cannon for the procession & trumpets voltaire for my dad & I ... (Princ. Diana's ... I've always dreamed of it!) We'll probably use the Ave Maria @ Communion. I love it as well

Re: Church Music
I had a picture of my and my DH grandmothers who passed away in front of the blessed mother statue. Instead of doing a unity candle, they played ave maria, and we presented roses to the statue in honor of them, then gave a rose each to our two grandmothers who are living. It was really touching - and a lot of people commented on it.

Re: Church Music
jpgirl- both of my grandmothers passed away a few years ago and it is still heart breaking to me. If I did what you did, I would never get off the floor. That must have been a beautiful moment.

Re: Church Music
Our bridal party will enter the church to Trumpet Voluntary in D. I'll walk down the aisle to Here Comes the Bride!
jpsgirl-what a sweet and meanful gesture. I'm sure there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

Re: Church Music
my grandmother is 88 and hardly ever gets out of the house (she lives with my parents) bc she needs a wheelchair/can't walk far - and she's got a little dementia. She took me to that church every sunday from when I was 2 or 3 until I was 16 or so. That was the first time she was back in church in about 10 years. When we were walking toward her to give her the rose, she was just staring up at me with her hair all done and cute, and her eyes all teary - and she says 'deborah, you are so beauteeeeful' it was absolutely amazing. I will definitley never forget that moment. I am hoping my clueless photographer got a shot of it, or at least the video!

Re: Church Music
The BP walked in to Canon in D and I walked in to The Wedding Song by Kenny G. I had Ave Maria played instrumentally during offertory.
