I am not sure but I know that for my brothers wedding the church was not flexible!!!!!!!

I really was wondering the same question. It probably depends on the church.

def, I don't see why not, especially if the father that's marrying you is nice!

Re: Church Music

I really wanted to pick out my own music for the ceremony, but I was looking over the pamphlet
from my church and it states:

'songs are written for a particular purpose. Some love songs, beautiful and inspiring though they may be, were note written for liturgical celebration. Their purpose is not to point us towards the divine, life-giving love of Christ and His Church. .....Likewise, Recorded music is never appropriate nor permitted in Church liturgies.'

But I dont know if every church is different

Hopefully it will work out!

Re: Church Music

did you talk to your church kedra? if you find out what their limitations are i'm sure we can find a song that you like that fits in there

I would ask them. Our church doesn't let us change anything. They tell us what they play and we have to pick something off that list.

I guess I should really just call them and find out....its not the end of the world if i cant do it but i dont want the traditional Canon in D and Heres Comes the Bride...blah!

Re: Church Music

A lot of churches are not very flexible with the music - meaningthey don't usually allow non-church related music, or 'pop' music.

It doesn't hurt to ask your church and maybe they will allow it, but I don't think my church would budge.

I am going to try and bring in an instrumental version of Plain White Ts '1234' to walk down the aisle to and see if they will let me but I'm not giving my hopes up
