Church Question!?

Church Question!?

We booked the church so long ago. We went to Pre Cana. My Question is. When we went to 'book' the church they gave us all the info about songs and readings. Does anyone know when we have to have this stuff into the church? we havent heard from the church since then.

As for us...we did the Pre Cana in November and our priest told us to get in touch with him after that to go over the readings/songs as well as to give him FH's baptismal certificate from his parish. So, you're probably going to need to call him.

I dont think it would be too late, but your priest/church might feel differently..just give him/her a call so you dont have to worry about it...

I would definitely give a call to the priest who is going to marry you.. But you are good. We have not even picked out our readings yet and we are getting married in Feb.

if you are not sure what readings to pick i suggest calling the priest soon to meet w/ him to help you with it. songs too but then you might want to mention when calling the priest you want help w/ the music so that the person that is in charge of music at the church can help you. or if you have people coming in from the outside to play music then you call them

i would definitely make 4 or 5 copies of the readings for your readers. keep a few with you on the big day to bring to the wedding (have your mom or dad hold them) and give a few to the priest and of course give a copy to the readers at the rehursal.

hope that helps!

Ok I feel bad saying this. Honestly I dont go to church. I keep saying im gonna go and I never do. Maybe since its the new year I will start going. Is the priest that is gonna marry us the one we met with to save our date?

Re: Church Question!?

The musical director called us in to go over music for the ceremony and our priest suggested some readings. He said to let him know the week of the wedding and that would be fine. As for the music selections the church already knows.
