Re: Church Readings

My FH and I both sat down and picked a reading for each (Old Testament, New Testament, Gospel) and we were only allowed to choose ONE for each. Then we sat down together and told each other which we chose and why. (We did this with our priest, but I'm sure you could do it on your own). We realized that some of the same wording/passages were repeated with the Gospel reading and we didn't want the same thing over and over. So that's how we ended up deciding what would be read.

Thanks, I guess i have to get FH to sit still for a few to help me. I am also getting over whelmed trying to do it myself. I am going to see if the priest will be willing to help us. That will probably help alot.

I actually picked out a few for each and then had FH sit and look over them and we decided together.

My FH is Jewish and isn't into the whole wedding planning thing... so I chose both of our readings.

I just went with what I liked. I pick Tobits... the one with live together till a very old age and Corinthians... love is patient...

I picked what I liked, then met with the priest and he helped me to make sure everything 'flows'

Re: Church Readings

We sat down together with my MOH(sister) and she read them out loud to us. We laughed at some of them because of the wording.... I know that is probably bad but really some of the wording is just weird!!!!! We ended up picking ones that made sense to us and we didn't laugh at. (one of the readings said something like- he got up from bed and said to his wife.... get up SISTER!!!!! We were like WHAT??? SISTER???? IT IS YOUR WIFE!!!! EWWWWW!!!!! Now I know that it wasn't really his sister but we just thought it was weird!!!! )
We ended up chosing:
Sirach
Corinthians
and Mark for the Gospel
