Re: Church Readings

We haven't officially picked them but I started going thru the 'Together For Life' book & now I know why you always hear the same ones at every wedding! Some of them are so archaic! If you have that book, for the Old Testament reading I'm thinking of: Genesis 2:18-24 The Two of them become one body (pg 12) b/c I like the part about 'a man leaves his father & mother & clings to his wife...'

For the New Testament I'm thinking of the most common one: 1 Corinthians 12:31-13:8a - the whole Love is patient, love is kind, etc. reading. I didn't like any of the other suggested ones.

Hope that helped!

I agree. It's tough to pick these out. Ilike the ones you chose so far.

Re: Church Readings

I'm in the midst of choicing mine as well. In fact I have that book in front of me right now and have chosen those two exact readings...

They are the only ones that seem to make sense or have any significance in todays world..

Question: Are we suppose to pick the Gospel as well or does the priest do that?

Re: Church Readings

Though at a second glance I'm beginning to love the one that begins 'Wives should be submissive to their husbands...'
