when does the church typically schedule the rehearsal? i am hoping to have mine on wednesday, the day before thanksgiving. i wanted to book it in advance so that i could schedule the dinner and give people enough notice before the holiday. however, when i called my church they told me that its usually done a month before the wedding. a month?? how am i supposed to arrange this around the holiday???
also, when do they set up a final meeting? will they call us to discuss or do we need to nag them?

My reherssl is scheduled for the night before the wedding...I guess it depends.on your CHURCH/PRIEST

Our was the Wed. before our wedding as well. We called the priest once we had all the paperwork we required and made an appt. to meet and that is when we scheduled rehearsal. I had wanted to do it on Friday evening but the priest was booked, you just have to work with the schedule. I agree with above poster, rehearsal the night before Thanksgiving might be tough for people, I'd suggest doing earlier in the week, maybe Mon?

Scheduled ours at our one and only meeting with the priest thus far so... I think it was about Thanksgiving time, so 6-7 months before.
He said at the meeting to call him up when we wanted to schedule the rehearsal. Then and there I said we already know, let's just schedule now, the day before, right before or start of dinner time, whatever time he thought best in his experience, so he penciled us in.
I'm glad it's all set because it is difficult to get in contact with him.

You have to check with your church -- some do rehearsals on specific days of the week. Talk to whoever coordinates the weddings there and they will be able to tell you and schedule it.

bah - thanks everyone. its just been so difficult to get in touch with them now. they wont return our calls bc its 'too far in advance.' - which makes booking the dinner reservation extremely difficult.
i think i may just have to pop in one day and demand to see the decon who schedules them. i dont see why they cant book it for us now.

I booked my rehearsal the same day I booked FOCCUS & pre-cana. Mine is the Friday before our wedding (Sunday) at 7:00 pm.

My church scheduled the rehersal about six months before..they wanted to do the day before my wedding (Thursday) but I asked them to change it to the (Wednesday)
