Church rehearsal with no rehearsal dinner??

i really don't want to have an official rehearsal dinner. i personally think its waste. however, since my nieces & nephew are in the bridal party i do want them to rehearse in Church before the big day. & i also think its a good idea to rehearse to make sure everyone knows whats going on.

do you think its okay to have no rehearsal dinner??

I think people are expecting to be fed and to mingle if they are giving up one of their nights to do this. Even if it is just a simple house party with finger foods. JMO.

i agree with marjorie. it doesnt need to be fancy and formal. but something to sit down and socialize is always appreciated. maybe just head to the local diner or a casual place you like

I think it'd be okay, but then just make sure you only include the very essential people in it. With a typical RD you invite the whole WP, both families, readers, OOT guests, the whole nine. I'd leave it at the bare minimum if you're not having a dinner. Also, make sure they are aware ahead of time that there's no dinner or anything like that following. Though I could see someone just saying 'Hey, let's go out for dinner and drinks' or something anyway.

This is what I plan to do. I'm not going all out, I just want a simple dinner at home with everyone.

Honestly, I think you should do the dinner if you are having a rehearsal. But like majorie said you can just do something simple back at your place .

The RD for me wasn't even in the budget after some little drama, but we ended up finding something inexpensive that worked for us.

this is the only thing that fmil has to pay for and its next week and nothing is even planned. Def try to get something together afterwards. More time to celebrate you and fh!! im my case more time for fmil to ruin my life

When I was a BM at my friend's wedding. After the rehearsal we all went to her house and ordered pizza. Everyone was happy.

I agree. Ours is just going to be a bbq in FIL's backyard. It doesn't have to be anything big.

I agree. Our's will probably be back at his parents' house since they have a good-sized backyard.

You can always order in easy stuff - sandwich platters and salads, something simple like that.

No need to piss off the BP a few days prior to the wedding, LOL!
