i am meeting with the priest tomorrow to put the date in the book, but i am unsure of the time.
this is how i see it:
Church (ceremony only) 2:00-3:00 (need time for photos & receiving line) Pictures at Botanical Gardens 3:45-4:30 (this time can not be changed) Arrive @ Hall 5:00 (take all pictures before CH starts) CH 7:00-8:00 Reception 8:00-12:00
all the locations are close enough to travel too this quickly. my mom thinks the church is too early since its a Friday wedding. however, i think that since we have a year to go still if we start letting people know now they will plan accordingly.
what do you think??

Re: Church time
I think it is early, but the people who want to be at the church will make it a point to be there.....especially if the time at the botanical gardens can't be changed...

Re: Church time
Did the church tell you 2:00???? Most churches only have specific times that they do weddings. For instance, my church told me I had a choice, either 11am or 3pm for a Saturday. I only had the option to choose between those two, I couldn't make my own time.

i am meeting with the priest tomorrow. its not a very strict church & the priest is a family friend so i am pretty sure we will be able to pick any time we want. but i will find that out tomorrow for sure.

Re: Church time
how far away are the church and the botanical gardens? could you do something like a 2:30 ceremony, have your hour at the church, and still take your pics at 3:45?

you have to be at the botanical gardens 15 minutes before your appointment time.

It is pretty early, but like someone said, people will make it to the ceremony if they really want to see it. And you can't change the time for the gardens because they don't allow pictures after 4:30. It will be fine. You are going to have some very nice photos. I didn't know the hall would allow you to get there so early to take pictures, I need to ask the next time I go to Grand Prospect.

Re: Church time
The time really depends if the church is able to have the ceremony start at 2. I know at my church for Saturdays weddings can start anytime after 11 and must end by 3. On sundays, weddings can start anytime after 3 pm but must end by 5 pm.
They may be able to do the wedding earlier if you really ask them.

Re: Church time
do most ppl that will be coming to the church live nearby? because then they can go to church in their work clothes and go home and get ready for the PARTY!!! so, i dont think its a problem.
however, if you think lots of ppl will be coming far, that is a lot of time between CH and RH, imo....

my mom doens't remember him saying 2 hours before but i am like 95% positive. i will have to double check my papers at home. besides our wedding is on a friday so they may have different rules for different days.

Re: Church time
My RH even planner told me that it is best to have the chruch at 2pm so that you are not rushing to get to your RH... I changed my ceremony from 3pm to 2pm

It is a little early, so just don't be dissapointed if not alot of people show up to ceremony. The important part is the people who matter will make sure that they're there.

thats what i said. i think if we start spreading the word now that we have such an early Church people who want to be their will arrange accordingly. i know in the past when friends had a friday wedding others took off from work to go.

i hate being rushed around to get from one place to the next. plus i don't want to spend the entire CH taking pictures.

Yeah that's true about the difference in days. I think they may be more lenient with parties held on Fridays than Saturdays. It would be nice if we could take pictures before the CH starts; so we don't miss too much of it.
