Church vent

SO MAD!!!

So my fiancé and I went to church the other day to go over the ceremony with the reverend. Mind you I wrote the ceremony myself and told the reverend that anything could be changed- I wanted to ensure that the reverend and the church were comfortable with what I wrote. He said it was beautiful and had no changes.
WE asked him if we could do the rehearsal the day before (Saturday) and he said no- because he lives too far and didn’t want to travel in. Ok fine…
The next day we called the deacon and said since the reverend can’t come in Saturday- could they open the church and we can at least let everyone know what they are doing. The church is set up weird so I didn’t want it to look disorganized . She said no problem- she just needed to check with the reverend.

Well- the reverend just called my FH and went off on him. Telling us the church can not open on Saturdays- it is a Sunday only church (???- what if christmas falls on a non Sunday day??)
Then he proceeded to tell him that our ceremony wasn’t going to work because we didn’t mention God enough….. ok- I told you that it could be changed..
Then he told my even though we aren’t using the organist- we have to pay him anyway….. ***????

I told my FH that I was ready to find another church or get married in the street.

I am so pissed off!!!!

thats so frustrating! I'm happy we cant get married in a church...lots of $$ for this kind of aggravation

We were originally supposed to have a church wedding...we also had to pay the organist regardless...actually...we didnt have much of a choice.

I'm kinda surprised they let you change the ceremony around...even though they dont like the amount of times God is mentioned...still surprised they let you do that!

The great news is you probably only have about 46 days left of stress!!

I am baffled. The organist has to come to work that morning and play for the service then go home. Why do I have to pay for him? He won't even be in the building. If I have to pay for him then I want him to play! I'll tell my musicians to start a half hour later.

The reverend went on and on about how he church was for us on our day .... now they are changing their tune.

I didn't want to get married in a church for this reason.... GRRRRRRRRRRR. Don;t mess with the bride buddy!!!!

THIS!!!

Our church...the one I attended since I was 2...demanded we pay for a Singer that we weren't using. I was told this a week before the wedding. I said no and if they had a problem, they could talk to me after the wedding

They also changed our rehearsal date on us. We gave them a lot of $$ and alot over the years. It was upsetting to me, as a parishioner, to see them act like this. It seems that a lot of them do because they can
