US THROW ANYTHING ONLY BUBBLES. I DONT WANT BUBBLES AND FEEL THE TRADITION OF THROWING SOMETHING SHOULD BE INCORPORATED IN MY WEDDING. I WAS THINKING OF JUST HAVING MY GUESTS THROW STUFF ANYWAY WHAT DO YOU THINK??

Re: CHURCH WONT LET
The last thing you need is to have an argument with your church on the day of or after your wedding...they must have a reason for making this rule, and I would respect their request. If it's such an important issue, maybe talk to them and see what you can work out.
If that doesn't work, then you have 2 options: 1) follow what they say 2) change your church

You have FM but it's something that does depend on church policy... is there another church in your area?

Re: CHURCH WONT LET
i personally would be too afraid to go against the church but thats me. But you would have to be careful bc whatever you throw would have to be put in a basket or somewhere during the ceremony so that right after when you head outside it will be right there to take to hand out to people so they might see it ahead of time.
Now my church allowed us to throw anything but we actually did bubbles, i didnt want rice or seeds bc didnt want it to get stuck all in my hair...i was very undecisive about this and the one part i didnt have an opinion on so i asked dh to pick and he said bubbles. Now one of our readers had the basket with all the bubbles to give to ppl as they were waiting for us outside, he was standing at the top of the stairs as guests came out and the priest was right there too so he was able to see the bubbles ahead of time, now in my situation it didnt matter but if it is an issue then keep that in mind

It is such a small detail of your big day. Don't stress so much over it. Will they let you do rose petals? I don't like them personally, but many people do. I wouldn't suggest going against church policy, you could be in violation of a contract and could be held liable for damages. I would find out what the consequences are if you do and then decide if it is really worth it to you.
another thought-what about releasing doves? that would make an impact i think.

I wouldn't go against the church either....I'd specifically ask if you can throw anything or offer to have someone sweep up after.
Another option is to have people throw stuff when you arrive at your hall?

there are some things that dissolve with water and dont need to be cleaned up, a type of biodegradeable confetti.
another alternative is to do ribbon wands, although my favorite thing is flower petals.
you can always stage a few shots w/ the flower petals outside your hall...

I have heard of this before. One of my BM's was just married last month and she wanted to throw rose petals, and the church did not allow, and then she was gonna use bubbles and they didn't want that either. The ceremony was still beautiful. I guess every church is different and has their own rules.
