Church/Ceremony

Hey Guys, So as most of you know we have decided to have a Catholic ceremony. We have arranged the date and time. We are meeting with our deacon to go over 'paperwork'. For those of you that have gone through this part, what should we expect? Also, are there any questions we should ask? Thanks for the help!

You and FH will be asked some questions like is this your first marriage, are you doing this voluntarily, are you in any way related

It's really easy and simple.

As for questions you want to ask:

What's the church fee?
Musicians / organists?
Do they allow an aisle runner?
Information on pre-cana
Who will be performing your ceremony?
Do they allow rice, bubbles, petals, birdseed, etc?

It's really much more relaxing than I thought it would be. Not that bad at all.

Good luck!

Same here. we were really nervous because we dont go to church and were afraid that they were going to give us a problem. Our priest was really nice and we laughed alot.
we got asked the same as above, were you ever married, are you related, all your personal info like name, address, fathers name, mothers maiden name, current parish.
other questions like how did you meet, when did you get engaged, are the families supporting the marriage, do the familes get along, how did he propose, who he told prior.
he went over all the 'rules' for weddings and gave all info to take home. and info on pre cana. discussed church fee. papers to have signed and notarized- saying you arent related, never been married etc.
we will have another meeting in September in which we will have to bring our notarized papers, FH's baptisimal certificate from his church.
My priest said that even though we are getting married next august, that we should do pre-cana before the year ends because the prices go up.
