Churches near Roslyn

Hi All, We live in the Bronx and are most likely getting married on LI at the George Washington Manor in Rosyln. I don't know the area at all! Can someone suggest churches in the area that marry non-parishoners? Within 30 minutes of the hall is probably OK. Thanks!

I was in the same position you are when I planned my wedding last year. We looked at St. Mary's Catholic Church (I think its on Bryant Avenue in Roslyn. The phone is (516) 621-2222) Anyway it is very close to the GWM and I'm sure the GWM can give you more info.

For more info on Catholic Churches on Long Island you can go to The Diocese of Rockville Center Website

Also -- for anyone else looking for a church close to the GWM, there is Trinity Episcopal Church on Northern Blvd, which is absolutely gorgeous. (designed by Stanford White with Tiffany stained glass windows, its a historic landmark -- though I must admit we had a horrific time dealing with the administration people -- trying to book the church was harder than closing on a house)

There's also Roslyn Presbyterian Church, which is located in Gerry Park. You can see picks of the church and the park in My Review

Good luck!

Try Saint Aidan's in Williston Park. You may also wish to try Notre Dame in New Hyde Park.

I am getting married at GWB in 8/06. We happened upon St. Mary's on Northern Blvd (different than the st. mary's mentioned above.) So far it has been a pleasure dealing with the parish and the Monsignor. The church is only about 15 mintutes away from GWB and it is beautiful. We live in the city and didn't have to keep running back and forth to the church like some other parishes expected us to do.

You could also try St. Peter in Port Washington- its on Port Blvd a couple of miles North of Northern Blvd. I'm not sure what their policy is on nonparish members, but I have to say that they were really great to deal with long-distance.
