no i only know you can do that in your church but the priest and the rabi have to be ok with it... look into that.. otherwise many people do it in the hall thats what my friends sis did.

Re: churchs
My brother just got married at the Uniterian Universalist Congregation of Manhassat (sp?) and it was really nice. The church is like a typical church, but their grounds are beautiful. They have a pond w/ a fountain, lots of grass and trees, stone steps, an old stone mansion w/ these stone archways - it was all really nice. It's worth it just to be able to take pictures there afterwards. I believe they have a website, you can find it if you google Uniterian and Manhassat. It's off the LIE, probably about 20 mins. from Fox Hollow.

The place in Manhassat doesn't care who is what religion, they'll marry you anyway. My brother is Catholic, his wife is not (I don't remember what she is).

That's exactly what I'm looking for!! I'm at the Fox Hollow too and this sounds like it'll be great. Do you know aprox. what the fees are and if they have restrictions on the girls dresses? I also want a string trio to play at the wedding so that's key as well.
Thanks!

Re: churchs
I believe their fee was $1200. I'm not using a church so I don't know what's normal. That's probably a little high, but you get full use of the grounds, the bridal suite, the art gallery for your receiving line, etc. I doubt they have any restrictions on the dresses - we wore strapless w/o a problem. They have an organ guy, but I'm sure you can bring in whatever music you prefer. The church has a balcony-type second floor where the photographer can grab some shots, so that might be a place you could put the string trio also (if you need more space).

Re: churchs
Yeah, I thought $1200 was high. Although I'm getting married at the hall and I'm paying $595 for a site fee, $325 for my officiant, plus extra for the music for the ceremony - and I'm only getting an extra half hour there. So I guess it depends what you compare it to.

Do you have any pictures of the church?

Re: churchs
Someone asked about pictures? Their website is:
www.uucsr.org
There are a few pics on the website and I think a virtual tour. Of course, they don't really do the place much justice.
