i read gabrielleandjohn's thread about having a cigar roller at her wedding, and i FELL IN LOVE WITH THE IDEA.
it seemed to fit me so well. i'm half cuban and my fh LOVES a 'good cuban' , anyway...
i told my moh and she loved the idea.
i just told my co-worker (who is invited to the wedding, and who's opinion i value) and she said it was 'the stupidest thing i've ever heard of'

oh, c'mon!!! Don't let it get shot down because of ONE person!! Especially a NON-family member! You love it. Your FH would love it. Your MOM loves it. Your DAD would love it. Do you really think you'll even talk to your co-worker in 30 years... and you're gonna let HER make your final decision after everyone else loves it!?!?!?

NO WAY!!! I had them at my wedding and everyone LOVED THEM. SOooooo many compliments and they loved it b/c it was so original. In their opinion...little did they know I got the idea from the ladies on LIW :o). I went with la rosa cubana cigars b/c of the price and their flexibility. GET THEM!!!

If YOU like it and know that others will...who cares what 1 person thinks? Once I had a grand idea and I went to someone who's opinion I usually valued....she thought the idea was absolutely stupid. I realized at taht point that it doesnt' matter what someone else says or thinks, if it makes you happy, it's wonderful.

first of all - this person must be COMPLETELY out of touch with weddings now
a cigar roller is a pretty common thing! i mean it is unique enough that most of your guests will probably be surprised. . . but its not an UNHEARD of thing!
if you want it then DO IT and then when people RAVE about how cool your wedding was - throw it in their face . . ( nicely of course!)

Listen if you let everyone tell you what they thought about what u were planning you wouldnt be having the wedding u are having now ....right???? do what u want ...i think it's an awesome idea ...wish i could do it

Well, some people loose there ability to think when it comes to cool ideas. It is classic and ethnic and fabulous. Tell her not to smoke one. If you want it get it.

I don't think its a stupid idea at all. Neither did all of my guests. My husband loved that I surprised him with it. People that don't even smoke were taking them home for friends. Relatives were calling for weeks to thank us and a lot of them mentioned the roller.

our cigar roller was a surprise for dh and EVERYONE loved it! They thought it was such a nice touch to the wedding. It did not take away from the wedding, but it was very cool. Get it if you want it and tell your coworker she cannot have any of the cigars! ps i used larosa and they were awesome

Ok - So YOU think it's a great idea, FH thinks it's a great idea ..........which means it's a great idea for your wedding - End of story ..... WHO CARES what anyone else thinks ???
