cigars at wedding?

cigars at wedding?

FFIL told FH he wants to bring a handful of cigars to give out to a few select men at the wedding and wanted to know if my father would smoke them. now, i have bad feelings towards my in-laws so perhaps this is why i reacted poorly to this idea...
I said he would smoke them but i do not find it appropriate
it is one thing to have a cigar roller for all guests but its another to have ffil handing out cigars to those he deems worthy. FH thinks it would be rude of my dad to turn him down and i said it would be rude of FFIL to ask and put him in that spot that forces him to get up and go outside for part of the wedding to smoke it together.

i suggested he does this after the dinner fri night when we are all back at the hotel or something...not to take him or anyone away from the wedding.
am i wrong? should i just let it go and think that FFIL is making a nice gesture???

also another vent...we got one cancellation via text yesterday and another couple canceled on our machine at home....the excuse for today's cancellation is that they decided to go on vacation...are you kidding me?!?!?!

I wouldn't feel right only bringing some. If he wants to do it I'd say bring enough for all the guys.

We are going to have cigars available for whomever wants them (not a cigar roller, but a few boxes of cigars). I know FH and his friends really enjoy a good cigar, so it's something he's really glad we're doing. But I do think just giving them out to a few select people might not be such a great thing.

And sorry about the cancellations.

This is exactly what we did as well and it was a HUGE hit with all our guests. I would definitely not give them only to a few, maybe FFIL could get a few really nice cigars for his buddies, but still buy enough cheaper ones for everyone?
