We are having a reception and civil ceremony in Long Island.
Does that mean that we have to get marriage license in Long Island or NYC city hall?
Can a civil servant from NYC marry couple in long island catering hall?
How does it work?

People who perform the ceremony can marry in the state (it's not by county or anything like that)
