Stupid question......I was just wondering if you get married in a Civil ceremony can you still get married in a church ceremony later on?

i'm going to say yes but i think their are some rules. I'm getting married in a church but i still have to go and get my marriage license at City Hall and it has to be within a specific time frame.

Yes you can. It might be a little difficult because you have already been living together (which the church frowns upon), but I think it can be done.

yes you can do that but the priest wont be signing ur marriage lic. bc your already married. It will be considered renewing your vows. BUt i think if you ask them not to mention the renewal part they will honor your request. I know someone who did that for Ins. and she didnt want her family to know she did it.

don't think so... if you're thinking catholic i highly doubt it. you have to bring your marriage license to the priest the day before your church ceremony and it can't be more than 30 days old or something... the catholic church is very strict like that...

my friend did it and now my cousin is doing it. You will have to go through pre-cana and all the prep work as if you were never married (because in the eyes of the church, you're not married).
Not all parishes like to do this though, so you may run into issues.
