Is anyones FH getting a claddah ring as their wedding band? FH wants one and I was thinking he should get one to wear as his wedding band if it's what he likes. Any ideas???

Re: Claddah rings (sp?) for FH.
I'm partial because I'm Irish but I love the idea.
Since the claddagh signifies friendship, love and loyalty, I think it's perfect as a wedding band.
I had one with a green peridot as the heart years ago, they do that a lot where they put stones in the heart or the crown.
But being a guy, he'll probably just want it plain.
I like the idea for what is stands for and I'm part Irish too... FH have talked about it too cuz we are both part Irish. If its what he likes i would do it.

The Claddagh ring is the traditional irish wedding band. If he wants it I would get it. We had discussed it as well.

FH got a claddagh ring for his everyday ring. Our jeweler in the diamond district made up something special for him
It's actually white gold but reflected the pink off my shirt
That's gorgeous! If it has meaning to him, then I think it is an excellent idea. There are some Irish stores on the island that have them. I know there is one in Smithtown.

FH and I are going to Ireland for our honeymoon and we are both going to get claddah wedding bands to wear everyday while we are there. I love the idea to say the least!

A claddaugh ring would be great for a wedding band. The claddaugh ring I wear now was actually a wedding band, but it was the only one my FH could find me (He is a last minute shopper). He got it at Littmans and the claddaugh is engraved into the band. I will try to post a pic later.

I think it's a nice idea as a wedding band. but contrary to popular belief, most Irish people do not use these as their wedding bands. although the Claddagh legend is Irish, it has become a very Irish-AMERICAN tradition. Very few Irish people in Ireland today wear the claddagh ring.... but i do like its meaning. personally, i would go with it for an everyday ring, not a wedding band....
