Does anyone take classes at Michaels? I was wondering if they are any good. They seem to have a bunch to pick from!

Also, where are other classes offered?

thanks!

i just joined this site so if you get this twice dont be alarmed!

i signed up for knitting classes at michaels and the day of the class i got a phone call from them cancelling the session. apparently not enough people signed up, in fact i was the only one. i would love to go to a class, i want to learn how to knit.

I took some class at michaels and was not happy. AC Moore also has classes, you should check them out.

Most scrapbooking stores offer classes if that is the type of thing you are interested in.
As far as other types of crafts... maybe check out the local library.... or even adult ed classes.

I took the basic cake decorating class. I loved it. I didn't take the advance classes though. I did get some good tips from them. Now, I can decorate my own cake and it comes in handy for BDays.

Yeah, their cake decorating classes are great. I think it all depends on who your instructor is though.

AC Moore

The only AC Moore I know of on Long Island is on 347 in the Stop and Shop/Brennans parking lot (near Paces Steak House)...

Are there others that anyone else knows of???

I've taken quite a few scrapping classes at Michaels in Westbury. I think the teacher is really good. One thing, you have to sign up early because her classes fill up fast.

That's the only one on LI for now, another one is suposed to be opening in the fall in the Sun Vet Mall in Holbrook, across from Sonoma Grill and the Flea Market.
