I hear the bar at the Ritz Carlton is a fancy/classy place for drinks...never been there though....

The bubble room serves champagne only..I can't remember where it is though and you can order strawberries with the champagne!!

Go to Villard (make reservations) at the Palace Hotel on 51st and Lexington Avenue. Call the Palace Hotel for the number. Great place for quiet dates - mulit-floor, all the floors/rooms are decorated great and you can either have a lot of privacy or go down to the first floor to the regular bar. Ask for a couched area on the top floor.

Flute is really nice but call to make sure that they are open. I walked by there a few weeks ago and they were under reconstruction.

Brasserie 8 1/2 on 57th 5757 in the Four Season's on 57th Oak Room at the Plaza Whiskey Blue in the W Times Squ.
my vote is for Pfiff! on grand/thompson in SoHo. I love that place.
Chez Es Saada has a romantic feel with the rose petals on the ground.

Go to Enoteca (sp?) It is the wine bar associated with I Trulli restaurant. They have one of the most AMAZING wine selections and you can do tastings with cheese... It is SO nice.....(and not as $$$$ as I Trulli)
