I think i am going to look into getting someone in maybe 2x a month for deep cleaning,,, wood floors, kitchen floor, bathrooms, kitchen, and maybe some ironing.
any price range I should keep in mind? I have a friend in bklyn that has someone come in 2x/mo for $60 a pop
Between working full time, (which means I get home at 630 the earliest) and that baby, I drive myself crazy on weekends/day off to clean up around here...
I am a neat nick .....
any tips?

Re: cleaning person?
To give you an idea on costs, we pay 60/visit, twice a month. We have a 2 bedrooms, 2 bath condo that is on 1 floor and under 1000 sf. That does not include ironing. She won't iron for us but she changes our sheets. We do not have children and only 2 adults in the home. Most of our floors are carpeted. I do not believe the cleaning is very difficult.
How big is your home?
I found the cleaning prices out here to be higher than what we were paying in Queens.
it depends on how many people come...how long it takes...how good of a job they do (light or heavy)
honestly...I am a firm believer in that if both people are working...there is nothing wrong with getting help...

Re: cleaning person?
A friend of mine pays $80 a week but she cleans a 4 bd room home and a 2bd apt which is attached!
Seems 60 would be fair for a one family home!

Re: cleaning person?
I am using a service recommended by ChristineC68. The ladies are top notch! They came the first time and cleaned, reorganized, etc for 6 hours. Now they have been coming once a week for 2 hours. It is 2 women for $40/per hour. My house has never ever been this clean. I am having more construction done and between that and the 3 kids it is hard to keep up. Carmen is the main lady and she is a godsend!

MLP - that is a great price! Can you tell me where this service is located and the name? Also, do you girls trust your cleaning woman with a key or do you have her come when you are home?

Phyl, Wow, I know exactly how you feel - I too work and feel that I spend so much time cleaning on the weekends and then I feel guilty that I'm not spending it with the baby. I too am getting one - my house is very clean but that's b/c I am constantly cleaning - I am going to give it a try and see if it gives me more time doing the things I love - being with the baby and DH...
