how do you guys keep your ring cleaned? my friend said i could just take it to any jewlery and ask them to clean it for me - is this true? or do i have to go back to where we bought it to have them clean it? If i dont take it to the store, do you guys use anything at home to keep it all sparkly and such?

Re: cleaning your ring
I know this is going to sound totally weird, but I use and old toothbrush (soft bristle) and a tiny bit of toothpaste and it works WONDERS!!! my grandma told me that her mom taught her that... i didn't believe it so I tried it and it really does work!! Just be sure to use warm water and rinse it really good when you are done!

I use jewelry cleaner or rubbing alcohol. They both work great.

I'm not sure where you get it, the jeweler actually gave a jar to FH when he bought the ring but it's called Connoisseurs. HTH!

Re: cleaning your ring
amonia, water and dish soap
some girls substitute straight amonia with Windex (since it has amonia in it)
soak ring then clean with soft toothbrush.

Re: cleaning your ring
i use the stuff the store gave my FH when he bought the ring. you can buy the same stuff at Walmart for cheap or any jewlery store too. I've heard that dish soap works wonders. As does toothpaste but make sure you don't use whiting toothpaste as it may scratch the gold

Re: cleaning your ring
My dad used t o be a diamond setter and he advised me that all you need to do is clean the ring in lukewarm water and a bit of liquid soap. He was so right! The other month I took a small bowl, filled it with lukewarm water and squirted a bit of liquid soap in the bowl. Then I let the ring sit in it for 5 minutes. When I took it out of the bowl, it sparkled like it was brand new.
