I'm totally not a makeup person and am kind of worried about the cleanliness of makeup artist brushes. I have 8 girls to get makeup done. I'm just wondering, do makeup artists usually clean their brushes after each wedding or are they usually ok to use again on everyone? Sorry I'm a real clean freak / germphobic!

Re: cleanliness of makeup brushes?
No the should clean them...if they don't then I wouldn't use them. Mine washes them and uses disposable ones when possible (mascara)

Re: cleanliness of makeup brushes?
Most brush cleaners, especially the ones by mac or parisian spirit, are quick drying (after 5 minutes) and not only clean, but disinfect as well. Also you can clean the brushes with alcohol-although thats not the best thing for the brush, but it works. Its definitely a good question to ask the makeup artist what they use to clean their brushes in between clients. Any reputable makeup artist should be cleaning their brushes after every person, OR carry enough brushes that you won't have to use each brush on more than 1 person.

Re: cleanliness of makeup brushes?
lol..i would HOPE & assume that ANY professional makeup artist cleans their brushes after an event..to be clean for one, but also for their benefit of maintaning their brushes..not only should they be cleaned after ur wedding, but they should use some sort of an instant sanitizer in between each girl. I know i do. if this is something ur concerned with u should ask ur artist and request it.

If they blow on the brush, run. but yeah they clean it. It would save time and be cleaner if your girls brought their own mascara. Besides, they know what works best for them personally...
