I just picked up some invitations for my STD magnets. I wanted to print everyone's address on the front, but I have the world's most horrible printer... a bubblejet. What I was wondering was if anyone knew if I could get some kind of clear labels to put over the names and addresses to in case they get wet, the ink doesn't smear. Any ideas? Thanks!

Clear label question...
try printing the addresses on the clear labels, and then affixing them to the envelope. We wound up doing this for our invitations because the envelopes kept getting a smear mark down the back when they went through the printer-- both of ours-- must have been the weight of the envelope.Good luck!

Don't print on clear labels!
Because the ink usually doesn't stay on them. . . it's happened to me a bunch of times at work. If you want to print the address right on the envelopes, then put a label over it, that's different. Go to Staples, they have bunches of different labels. Avery makes clear labels.
Good luck.

I can understand the clear over it, but on the labels seems kinda odd to me. One of my FI cousin's did this on his and everyone spoke about how they thought it was cold and just night formal enough to do on their awesome invites

Re: Clear label question...
I'd used Avery #8660 for the small domestic addresses and for addressing the inner envelopes.
I'd used Avery #5663 for the big/long domestic and foreign addresses. I'd used some of these for the inner envelopes for those long names or large households. We'd invited children of all ages to our wedding and I'd listed every child's name of the household on the inner envelope to make it more personal. For example, a family of 6 that that has 2 parents and 4 children (2 unmarried adult children and 2 young children) all their names are listed on the inner envelope. I'd used Avery #5663 for cases like this.
Plus, it sure bets writer's cramp or making mistakes and using white out to cover it up when reviewing it on the computer first before printing it out. The only problem that I've had is that I have deskjet printer and I have to wait for the ink on the labels to dry before putting it on the envelopes otherwise the ink will smudge.

Re: Clear label question...
I used clear labels for the return address on my eparty invites. I used the HP Laser printer at work and it worked perfectly. It looked nice I think. No one realized the return addresses were on labels when I showed some to my parents and my sister. Can you use a laser printer from somewhere?
