Clear to Close

things are moving SO quickly. we received our mortgage commitment on friday, signed and returned to the mortgage company on monday (clear to close on bank's end on mon afternoon). our attorney contacted the bank attorney on tues and faxed the title report. we finalized the HOS yesterday and a paid in full binder was faxed to the bank attorney. received a call yesterday afternoon to schedule closing for next week.

i am amazed that things worked out so smoothly. as usual, i procrastinated but (knock on wood) everything worked out as planned. contract date reads 4/15 and we knew from the onset that the closing would REALLY be on or about 5/13.

waiting to hear from our attorney today in re: when the seller is vacating.

i am assuming they did so knowing that the closing date on the contract was 4/15 and we HAD to move things along. then again, i have heard horror stories in re: the bank dragging their feet.

i KNOW that the seller's attorney was getting very nervous as we were supposed to have a copy of the mortgage commitment faxed to them on the 4/28 and as a result had to ask for an extension until 5/2. serves THEM right. we waited over 6 weeks for the damn contract to be resolved.
