Clergy Help Please
Dear Brides Your help is kindly requested. I've already booked my place, the Riviera of Massapequa for July 4th, 2002 and am now looking into clergy for the ceremony. I'm Jewish and my FI is not, he's Catholic. I'm pretty sure we've decided to have a neutral party perform the ceremony so if anyone has any names, comments and/or numbers it would be appreicated. Even a website would be good. Also, if you guys know a team of a Rabbi and a Priest that would work too. Anything at all. Thanks so much for your help! Vic

you could find a unitarian church - they accept all cases - thats what my cousin did in your situation. A kantor and priest team is nice as well, i saw a nice duo, but do not know their names. Or, like Friends, you can get any of your friends or family members certified for the day to perform any kind of ceremony that you want.

I was at a wedding concelebrated by Cantor Benedict and Fr. Lisante. They were fabulous together. You can try to get his number by calling the Diocese of Rockville Centre. I think some people from the board may be using him, so maybe they will have the number also.

thanks for the info. i was thinking of that but we are getting married at the place where the reception is being held. a family member would work out but i'll have to find out how they can become certified by the state to perform the ceremony.

Msgr Lisante
He performed my ceremony along with Rabbi Forman. VERY VERY TOUCHING. ALso remember, that since one of you is Catholic you will need to go through Pre-Cana process. It is not scary at all for the Non Catholic. In fact, the Msgr has a special session for Interfaith couples! The Mgsr was great...just be sure to pinpoint him ont the fee he requires. He told us that he would accept whatever the Rabbi charged. But 2 days before I recieved a call from his office with a completely diff $$ amount- HIGHER OF COURSE!

I agree - Msgr. Jim Lisante is the best person to help you in Long Island. He is sweet, and understanding. I, too, am Jewish, and my now-husband is Catholic. good luck.

Clergy Help Please-Another vote for Msgr. Jim!!!
I've seen Msgr. Jim Lisante and Cantor David Benedict perform 3 weddings(one being my first)and they do a fantastic job. Msgr. Jim also baptised my daughter five years ago. He is a great guy.Welcome New Vendors
