clinging of the glasses

clinging of the glasses

I cant stand when people cling on the glasses, it drives me crazy. So I think im going to with: If people want us to kiss they have to come up to the DJ and give us a piece of advice. the better the advice the better the kiss.

What is everyone else doing?

put names of couples in a fishbowl and everytime the glasses are clinging, the DJ pulls a name out and that couple has to kiss in front of everyone. the bride and groom have to copy that kiss. only thing is: could get raunchy hehe so choose couples wisely. hehe.

we are actually using place card holder bells that have a card (instead of the guests name) that say....
Today as we gather together
wish us a life to last forever
If you would like us to share a wedded kiss
ring the bell for lifelong bliss.

I know it is similar to the clanking of the glasses but it won't be as loud. I just don't think too many people would go up to the dj and give advice just to see us kiss.

How are you going to let people know that that's what they should do? B/c people usually just start clinking the glasses anyway.

Some places sell 'glass tappers' that make the noise a little less irritating. Just another idea.

Our DJ is going to announce it at the beginning of the wedding right before dinner is getting served

Oh I hate that clinging glass thing to it makes my ears bleed. Haven't thought of replacing it with anything . . . he'll be my husband I'll kiss him when I feel like it and vise versa, not when people coax us to Your idea sounds cute though, I say go for it!

We put bells at each table with a note saying that they should ring them for goodluck if they wanted us to kiss..... Nobody used them though, they all clinged their glasses.

Great Idea though really nice Hope it works!

I must not have been to a wedding in a long time because I forgot all about that glass clinging thing.

Since we are a day after New Years, I'm going wiht the bells and I'm going to make up a tag with a saying along the lines of:
Ring in the new year and a kiss from the new Mr & Mrs.
I might have pics in album.

Re: clinging of the glasses

I have an addiction to tic-tacs. Everybody that knows me also knows that I have tic-tacs with me wherever I go. So we labeled tic-tacs with this poem:

Shake these mints
For Marital Bliss
And keep on shaking
Until they Kiss

It's really funny to hear an entire room shaking tic-tacs. (I actually got this idea from another LIW bride)
