I need help coming up with something to write on cards to put on the table, to tell people 'instead of clinking your glass, wave your napkin to get us to kiss' Both fiance and I are deaf, so this would be a good idea. All of our families are hearing, friends are deaf, so want to share that part of our culture at the wedding.
Possible ideas: Tradition has it, that by clinking your glass the bride and groom will kiss, but because we can not hear this bliss, please wave your napkin to see us kiss.

Re: Clinking glasses subsitute...we are deaf
At my sister's wedding (she and the groom and all their friends were deaf) they shook their napkins in the air. All the hearing people figured out what it meant. Since the entire ceremony was in sign, everyone expected it. It was really cool to see all the napkins in the air at the same time.

Great idea....how about using ribbon wands already placed at the tables?

And use the ribbon wands with this quote attached to the wand.
