FH and I have to pick our menu soon! This is what we have come up with....

CHAFING DISHES
Coq Au Vin
Fried Plaintains
Chicken Marsala
Eggplant Parmagiana
Sausage with Peppers and Onions
Fried Calimari
Boiled Pierogies
Beef and Broccoli Teriyaki

DO you think these choices are okay, enough variety?? some of the other things we were considering were....Shrimp scampi, stuffed peppers, chicken teriyaki, there were SOOO many other choices, too many to list. and of course there will be the usual stations like cheese and fruit, and antipasto, etc + passed hor Doeurves

CARVING STATIONS
Roasted Prime Rib Au Jus
Oven Roasted Vermont Turkey Breast with Jellied Cranberry Sauce

APPETIZER
Pinwheels of homemade Fresh Mozzarella, Prosciutto, and Basil layered with Tomato and Grilled Eggplant drizzled with Basalmic Viniagarette

PASTA COURSE
Penne A La Vodka

ENTREE's
Grilled Sirloin Steak (marinated in garlic, oil, oregano, and spices grilled to order) (FH didnt like the chateaubriand so we picked this instead)

Chicken Cordon Bleu (I liked this at the tasting)

Chilean Sea Bass Oreganata (broiled in White wine, garlic, butter, and oil, topped with seasoned bread crumbs)

Chicken Francaise

Do you think this is all okay??? is it alright to have 2 chicken choices?? There will be a vegetarian option available but not on the menu. we will discuss that when we hand in our menu

looks good!

I didn't like the chateaubriand either. They said it's very popular but I wasn't into it. The lamb chops were out of this world -- even Lou said he loved them :)

I can't wait until it's time for me to finalize the menu...

i personally was not a huge fan of the fish choices at the tasting, although everyone else on here says they were amazing, so that might have been just me. so that was why we went with the sea bass since that was the one fish we didnt try at the tasting. it sounded good. I posted another thread like this on the 07 board and got one response so far but you should check it out b/c it might help you out.

that's good to know that the lamb chops were good. FH and I personally are not into lamb chops but some of our family is so we may end up switching one of the chickens to the lamb chops.

Heather, Debi and Fred went to the recent tasting, and didn't care for the salmon, but they did like the filet of sole, so they put it as one of their choices, instead of the salmon. Mary MOB

The Veal chop all the way! I normally would never eat that but we tried it at the tasting and were blown away... so good!

Also I would suggest doing the shrimp scampi i/o the fried plantains, I feel like this is probably too ordinary of a dish for a wedding unless you have some specif reason for it...JMO

Re: CLM brides, post your menus or what you are thinking of (and anyone else do you think mine is ok??)

Fred and I just went to the tasting last week. Everything was soooooooooooooo yummy!!

This is what we decided on:

Hot Chafing Dishes:
Coq Au Vin
Shrimp Scampi
Eggplant Parmagiana
Sweet and Sour Hawaiian Chicken
Rice Pilaf
Arroz con Pollo
Boiled Pierogies
Beef and Broccoli Teriyaki

(They did not have the apps. at the tasting, except for a salad and the main app. I had to ask Lou what half the stuff was!! )

Carving Stations:
Turkey Breast and Cranberry Sauce
Deli-Style Pastrami with Mustard (Had to add this one cause both our families are German.)

Main Appetizer:
Pinwheels of Mozzarella, Prosciutto and Basil layered with Tomato and Grilled Eggplant drizzled with Balsamic Vinaigrette.
(This was phenomenal! I think it is their speciality.)

Intermezzo:
Sorbet with Champagne
(In my opinion there is enough pasta on the menu for anyone that likes it. I love sorbet!!!)

Main Entrees:
Chicken Francaise
(Did not get to try at tasting, but sounds delicious!! )
Stuffed Jumbo Shrimps
(So good and I normally do not even eat seafood!)
Chateaubriand
(This I had at the tasting and oh my!!!!!! It was the best I have ever had anywhere!!!!!!!)
Chilean Sea Bass Oreganata
(We were going to do the Salmon for my FH, but he did not like the cream sauce on it and said it was mushy. We loved the Sea Bass surprisingly enough!!)

Dessert:
Can't afford the Viennese Table (though if we had the money, we would definitely get it). So, we went with the platters of pastries and cookies. Got to try these at the tasting and they were awesome!! Campbells does a great job with the pastries. Who needs fruit when you can get that at the cocktail hour?

The only extra we are doing is the ice sculpture. I always wanted one. If we had the money though we would add the ice cream wagon, candy cart, and chocolate fountain. The fountain was amazing at the tasting!!

I think I gained five pounds from the tasting! It was worth it though. I figure I may not eat much on my wedding day, so at least I feel like I am getting to try everything.

Yeah, go with the Sea Bass. It definitely tasted better than the Salmon. We did not get to try the Filet of Sole, but that looks good to me too.

Debi, I told the Brides you liked the filet of sole, because I thought that's what you told me. Sorry, girls!! I took Debi's menu from her website. Mom/Mary
