CLM Food Tasting
Hi Girls
I went to CLM's food tasting tonight and just wanted to let everyone know that if they have not went yet I highly recommend it. The food was very good and it was nice because this was the first time that my FH and I brought his parents to CLM. (They have been there before but many years ago.) When they tell you not to eat before you come...LISTEN! lol They serve you so much. They served us:
Appetizer - The fresh mozzarella, prosciutto and basil pinwheels with tomato and grilled eggplant.
Salad - They gave us a choice between the mixed field greens and the caesar salad.
Dinner - They served 7 of their most popular dishes family style.
1 - Sliced Chateaubriand - 5 out of the 6 people we were with thought that it was really good. My mom thought it was a little pink for her but she likes her meat very very well done.
2 - Sauteed Rack of Veal Chop - I don't eat veal but anyone who ate it said that it was good.
3 - Sauteed Pork Chop - Again, I didn't eat it but my Dad said it was cooked very well.
4 - Chicken Cordon Bleu - The chicken was really moist and overall this was one of my favorite dishes of the night.
5 - Chilean Sea Bass Oreganata - My father and FFIL both felt that it was cooked well but just didn't have a lot of taste to it. I thought it was good but it was kinda plain.
6 - Poached North Atlantic Salmon - it was good but I felt that this was plain. I also am not a huge fan of salmon however everyone said that it was really good. So I am thinking that its just me who doesn't like salmon that much.
7 - Stuffed Jumbo Shrimp - I love stuffed shrimp! Their stuffed shrimp was good I thought. Other people at my table felt that the stuffing wasn't very good and it was too mushy.
Desert - They bought pastries and cookies to the table. They even had the chocolate fountain which I absolutely love!
Overall, I thought that the food was very good. At my table the overall thought was positive of course we had some negative statements but it really has to do with personal taste in food. For example, my FMIL doesn't like seafood so she wasn't very interested in any fish dish. My mother doesn't like her meat anything else but well well done so the medium to medium well meat turned her off. Like I said if you are booked at CLM or are interested in looking there you should definitely go and try the food.
I hope this helps. Before I went to the food tasting I was looking for what I should be expecting and couldn't really find anything. So I hope this helps all of us neurotic over planners. lol
