CLM Question!

CLM Question!

Hi everyone!

Anyone that has been to CLM, do you think 100-125 people is too small a party for the main room? I love it so much but think I might have to go with the upstairs room?

Did anyone have it upstairs---what did you think? One more ?.....how far in advance did you book with CLM?

Thank you!!!!

Re: CLM Question!

I was there last night and was asking more questions about booking since i am serious now. I am inviting 112 and think only 80 will show up and we are going to book upstairs. This will be comftable not roomy or tight but just nice with eight people per table.

I would have to say under a 120 in the bigger room would look rather lost. Remember your inviting 120 doesn't mean they are all going to show so if you have maybe 20-25 less it really would look lost in my opinion. But i haven't actually been to a event there as of yet. I will be going to my fh xmass party there dec. 1st and will post pics and right a small review up but of course i am not sure if u can wait till that long IoI

Good luck

Re: CLM Question!

Jen2999 had her reception upstairs- look for her review! I'm having mine upstairs as well, and my minimum is 125 (Saturday night). I really wanted downstairs cuz it's so pretty and roomy, I just fell in love with that atrium...but I don't think you'd be that lost down there. I think N.Y.Bride had a fairly small wedding down there as well, and she said it was fine- check out her review too!

Re: CLM Question!

Thanks girls! I appreciate your thoughts...

It's funny b/c my BF and I thought we'd both be marrying into families larger than our own! But we might be lucky if we get 100-110 showing and that is with friends!! I got a min # of 100 on a Sat. (upstairs) in Oct. 08. so that would work out!

But I think CLM is so great overall I guess it doesn't matter what room I am in!

How far in advance did you girls book? I already posted this Q in BridesHelpingBrides, but he thinks we will be able to book in May 07 for Oct 08...? Is he right or am I just crazy thinking it will book up?

My family is gigantic, but it helps that FH's family is almost non-existant in comparison! But he does have lots of friends, and that makes up most of his list. So we got a small one too- good for us!! Less

I think you can definitely book that far ahead. When I booked, 11 months in advance, there weren't all that many dates left for the popular nights like Fri and Sat. Not to mention, the big room books up fast. The smaller room you definitely have a better shot, but like I said, even some of the dates were limited when I booked! I think booking early is great for peace of mind...and since CLM has become so popular these days! Go for it!

Re: CLM Question!

I booked 4 months before and I had the downstairs room with about 125 people and it was awesome! It wasnt cramped and it definately wasnt lost. I was able to go 8 - 12 to a table instead of 12 at every because of it which was great because not everyone got along etc.

Anyway - Id say any more and it would have been cramped.

Re: CLM Question!

I booked Oct 4th this yr for Nov 1 2008, and we booked the big rrom.
The food is amazing. We would have liked either room but FH has a very big family

HTH

IMO- Book as early as you can to get this years prices. They will probably go up in 07

Re: CLM Question!

If you are set on CLM i'd book asap!! When I went to book 1 yr and 3 months in advance there were only 3 saturday nights left!! I speak to Nick a lot and he's been saying that they have been booking like crazy... plus they have a commercial coming out soon so that will get even more people interested.

Our party was too big for the upstairs room so we couldn't even consider it, but it is gorgeous!! Definitely talk to Nick or whoever you are working with at CLM and see what he thinks about which room you should take. Good luck!!

Re: CLM Question!

I guess yea if they change the settings downstairs to fit smaller amounts of people it could work. I would book whenever you can commit to the payments otherwise I would wait and take the risk of loosing a date or pick a unpopular day like thurs or sunday. I just happen to want a sunday because i want the closest to st. pat's and it happens to be on palm sunday so its even better for me since its a better deal

Re: CLM Question!

We booked in August 04 for our July 9, 2005 wedding! I do not live in NY anymore so booked it w/o even seeing it--never doubted our decision!

Re: CLM Question!

For our Oct 3, 2008 wedding, we have to guarentee 175 in the downstairs Atrium room.
