CLM - Question

CLM - Question

I went to CLM on Friday and we really like the place however there is one problem....they don't have an elevator for the upstairs room?!? We asked how do people go upstairs if they are unable to walk up all the steps and he told us that they will carry the person on a chair. The idea of my FH's grandparents (who will be 92 at the wedding) being carried up the stairs makes me laugh lol but has anyone been to a wedding there that this occurred? Do they carry them up before all the other guests move from the cocktail room to the reception room? I just feel like it will be awkward.

Re: CLM - Question

I had 2 people in wheelchairs at my wedding.....they both can walk but use wheelchairs because walking is difficult. The staff got both upstairs without an issue and I actually never even saw any of it.....I did ask that they be taken out of the CH a few minutes early so that there would not be a crowd.....I also asked that my 94 year old grandmother be given extra time.

CLM will do anything to help so I wouldnt worry about getting up or down the stairs being an issue. There are bathrooms up there so they only need to get up once and then down at the end of the night.

I think it is an issue and i think it has been on the boards before that most people wouldn't want for themselves or there guests to be carried up a flight of stairs.

Thanks. I really wanted someone's perspective who has seen it happen or been involved first hand. I would probably ask the same just so everyone isn't staring at them while its happening and they can just be one of the last to leave if we choose the hall. Honestly I just can't believe they don't have an elevator.
