Just got back from the Gyn. They said that I don't ovulate. My estrogen is in menopause levels. (Not exactly what I wanted to hear...)
They gave me that new BC, the Ring (Estrogen based), and said as soon as I am ready, I have to start PN vitamins before I start TTC. They are going to start me on CLomid and see what happens.
Has this drug worked anyone? Any alternate drugs I should ask her about?

My friend got prego using Clomid on her 2nd month.
She did ovualte though, but needed help getting prego.

Umm, I was also told the same thing - that I was, at the age of 31, in perimenopause levels. I wasn't ovulating for about a year and hence wasn't getting AF. The doctor would put me on Provera every now and then to induce AF and was hoping that would jump start my system into ovulating again. I was in my ob/gyn's office to begin my Clomid rounds, when I found out I was PG and already 6 weeks along (so it seems as if the last Rx of Provera in July did jump start my system and I ended up ovulating on my own).
Have you tried the Provera (medroxyprogesterone)?
Another alternative to Clomid which my doc would have tried on me if the Clomid didn't work is glucophage. I know there are several ladies here who have used that with 'positive' results.
ETA: My friend has PCOS and was on Clomid unsuccessfully for 5 months before stopping it all togehter.
I was on the Prgesterine for a few weeks beacsue I had AF for MONTHS and it wouldn't stop. I have been on over 12 different BC pills (within 10 years, the last on being Yasmine) and I have gotten AF through all of them...), the patch and the progesterine. I have been for three sonograms and had blood work done.
They said that they woudl start with Clomid. Tehn they had two more druhs to try. She said that she wanted to warn me, I may have multiple births. I was liek GREAT! We were hoping to have twins anyway!!! I would be happy with just one... that's all I really want anyway, Brian is pushing for three.

You said you had cysts. Do you have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). A lot of women with cysts have this condition (I do). My reproductive endocrinologist put me on Glucophage which I take 2 500mg pills a day, this is to see if it will make me ovulate. If I do not get preggo on my own by Jan than they will start me on Clomid.
A friend of mine got preggo on Clomid on her first month. It def helps.

I stopped ovulating after I gave birth to Paul. I discovered that I have PCOS too, but I am only taking 500mg of Glucophage once a day, and it seems to be working. For the past two months, I have gotten a 'regular' AF.
Ask your doctor to test your FSH and LH hormone levels - these will indicate whether you have PCOS or not.

I used Clomid for three month, unfortunatley with no success. There were several side effects (mood swings, hot flashed, night sweats), but none too severe.

I took clomid for one month and am pregnant. Absolutley no side effects for me.

I took Clomid 4 cycles. The last and highest dosage at 150 did give me good numbers on my progesterone test so I did ovulate but still no pregnancy.
I'll be starting another drug next cycle -- can't remember name but it's supposed to the same as Clomid only it doesn't dry up Cervical Mucus.

I am currently on my second cycle with clomid. I have not been having any side effects. I also have pcos and I am taking glucophage. The clomid seems to be working and this month during my sonogram I had 3 mature eggs. We should know by the end of the month if we are preggo.
So the monitor you while you are on this? With SOnograms and stuff? She hadn't mentioed that.

It depends on your doc. I didn't have any tests to check size of follicules or anything but you should have your progesterone tested (quick blood test about day 21 --right after ovulation) to see if the drug at least did the job of helping you ovulate.
