The sellers accepted our offer at the very end of Jan and we went to contract in the very begining of Feb. We have a potential closing date of 4/15 (that's what the seller's requested when we put in the offer). How accurate was everyone's closing date? How much later did it end up being, if it ended up being later at all? Are we being too ambitious to think we could close by 4/15 or the lastest 4/22? Out commitment 'expires' on 4/28. Anything I can do to stay on top of things to help things go smoothly so we could close as close to 4/15 as possible? I'm so nervous! I don't want to lose out on the commitment or the interest rate! I'm being neurotic...... Thanks for the help, ladies!

I would relax until you have a reason to panic there is a good chance you will close on time. I actually closed earlier then expected. We were supposed to close in October and we closed on the 15 of September SO miracles do happen

I closed 2 weeks late because the sellers had to wait until they 1st of the month for their apartment.

Ours was supposed to be 1/25 and we closed on 2/7 but that was only because my mortgage broker was an ***!!!

Call your loan officer and/or loan processor and make sure they have everything they need from you. Ask them if you are 'clear to close'.

Thanks everyone! Feeling alot better! I spoke with our mortgage person today and she just needs a couple of things (2004 W2's and the contact info for the person to speak to about my employment) and then she said that our file would go to their lawyer (?) who would make sure the title was clear from our lawyer's search and then they would set a date. Thanks again!
