You might not have to call your oil company if the sellers have already taken care of it.
That sounds like it!! Good luck tomorrow!!!!

find out if they have gas - then call Keyspan.
If they have oil, dont worry about it- you have to pay the sellers for teh oil in the tank (plus you wont be using much rignt now anyway) you can shop around for oil when you move in.
see if they have a terminte contract, alarm company, landscaper.

Good luck on your closing! You can look on the listing copy or your engineer inspection report to see if you have gas/oil. If you have oil the Seller's attorney would have had them do a reading on the tank and you credit them the amount at closing along with the taxes. If you have oil don't forget to get locked into a good rate contract for the Winter Season.
Post office you can just do online www.usps.com
Don't forget the Water Authority.
Good Luck!

not after our closing Im not. They left cat poop on the wall, clumps of cat hair and poop on the carpets, tons of debris on the side of the garage like tires, glass, oil pans, rusty wheelbarrow etc.. A cement slab around the pool was broken, as a matter of fact I stepped on it and it crumbled into the pool!! and the sprinkler system is SOOO broken!! Im so angry!! They would only put $500 into escrow! So, Id rather pay the money than speak to them again. They acted like we were getting a steal, how dare we ask them to put some money in escrow.. Ugh - Oh well - its over now...

That's gross! Didn't your engineer picked up on the Sprinkle system, etc. ?
Nothing you can really do now, that's why the Seller's signed the property disclosure and give a $500 credit at closing. 99.99% of Seller's do this, their attorney wouldn't have it any other way.
Just enjoy your house it'll be up to par by the time you know it!

Re: Closing on our house tomorrow! Who do I need to call - LIPA...
We had the engineer come early April. He said he wasnt sure if the sprinkler system was in working order and could not check it because it wasnt ready for the summer. He told us to put in the contract that the sprinkler system will be in working order.
It definately wasnt!! Only $500? I sure hope it covers the cost to fix it but I highly doubt it.
My husband went in there today and started ripping out sheet rock
