CLOSINGS QUESTiON? - were your closing costs more than you were quoted?
my lawyer called me today with all the $$ we need for tommorow?
is their a chance it might be more?
and another question they want a bank check made out to the seller for the closing costs? is that correct? i think it was werd!!
BUT THIS TIME TOMMOROW WE WILL BE HOMEOWNERS!!!!!!!!!!!

Whatever numbers and information the lawyer gives you... just make the proper bank/official checks out to whatever he says.
Closing costs can vary... but usually they are around the number that you are originally quoted in your GFE.

i heard they can differ from the GFE but not from what your attorney quotes you. since some costs must be paid via certified checks, these figures cannnot vary. however, some of the pre-paids (oil, taxes, mortgage) might not match what you were quoted on the GFE.
eta: not sure why you were advised to make a check out to the seller for closing costs. perhaps he was referring to the pre-paids as mentioned above.

Mine was exactly what the lawyer told us the day before but they were 5grand more than the scum bag mortage broker told us when getting the mortgage.

ours were close to the GFE
we had a bank check written out to to seller for the downpayment.
But some things like what we owed him for taxes already paid, were included in that check amount.
